In an incident that at first left police incredulous, two men were charged Thursday in Southington with shooting a man in the leg with a blowgun. Police said the man was shot as he walked out of a store on Queen Street.

The man was one of three people shot apparently at random in the space of half an hour Thursday in Plainville and Southington. In all three cases, the attackers drove past their victim as they fired, police said.

Police in Plainville said two people were shot with blowgun darts there shortly before the Southington incident. They believe the two men arrested in Southington are the culprits in the Plainville attacks also.

Arrested were Jason Plourde, 27, of Waterbury, and Edward Youle, 33, of Southington. Police said they found three blowguns and a box of darts in their sport-utility vehicle.

“They thought it was funny,” Southington Police spokesman said

after i started college, i realized that when i was a little girl, all of my cousins in India were either working or in college. throughout my childhood, i was always close to my dad’s family. my dad’s brother lived in waterbury, and almost every weekend i would visit my cousins. after i moved to california, no one on my dad’s side ever called me, but my mom’s sister and my mom’s brother’s son called us. my cousin suggested we keep in touch by email so that him and his family know i remember them. now that i think about it, everyone is married and has kids of their own. i never had the chance to attend any of their weddings. should i stop writing to them? i attended my dad’s brother’s daughter’s wedding and didnt have a good time. everyone ignored me. after i came back, i stopped writing to them. i stopped writing to my cousin in india for a while and he called me and started complaining and suggested i call and write once in a while to catch up. what should i do
i honestly feel that if i stop writing, i will feel better. eveyone is busy nowadays with their own responsibilities.

Thief Takes $20,0000 Electronic Message Sign

WATERBURY, Conn. - State police said somebody has made off with an electronic message sign used by the Department of Transportation to provide information to motorists on Interstate 84 in Waterbury.

State police said the variable message sign along I-84 near exit 25 was reported stolen earlier this week.

The sign measures 4-by-6 feet and is mounted on a two-wheel trailer. State police say it’s worth about $20,000.

The sign was parked on the eastbound side of the highway and it’s used to notify motorists of accidents, construction news and traffic delays.
